January 20, 2020Loaded struts, commonly referred to as complete struts, are ready to install because of its convenient pre-assembled design. A strut itself is a part of the vehicle’s suspension system and includes many parts that assist in handling daily driving terrain.

A complete strut assembly will typically contain eight parts within it:
- Strut
- Spring
- Spring seat and insulator
- Strut boot
- Jounce bumper
- Strut mount and brackets
- Bearing plate
- Lower/Upper Isolators
The components of the complete strut assembly are ready to install for quick and safe replacement.
Replacing a damaged or worn strut is important because of damage it may cause to other components of the suspension system. Damaged struts can affect steering system, shock absorption, joint connection, brakes, and even the vehicles tires.
There are two options to a worn strut which consist of rebuilding from a previous unit and new parts to replacing the strut assembly completely.
Rebuilding a Strut
For a technician to rebuild a strut they must first diagnose the component within the strut assembly that is failing. This can be difficult and time-intensive as there are many parts of the strut unit as listed above. Many of these companies are directly connected or assembled with a specialized tool and cannot be disassembled without it.
Possibly rebuilding a strut could save cost on a certain part but the complete strut assembly may begin to fail on other components of the unit.
Replacing a Strut
Replacing a strut with a complete, or “loaded”, strut assembly not only saves time, is safer for the technician, but also allows for security that the rest of the unit is up to date as well.

FCS Complete Strut Assemblies make it faster and easier to install compared to traditional struts. Their strut assemblies make sure that there is no chance for missing parts, improves the overall steering, handling, and braking ability of the vehicle, and minimizes wear and tear on tires and other components of the steering/suspension system.
