September 10, 2019What You Need To Know About Fog Lights
What do fog lights actually do? What is the difference between normal headlights and fog lights? We will explain all the information you need to know to answer your questions.

How They Work And More:
First we need to discuss what exactly fog is. Fog is tiny droplets or ice crystals that float in the air about 18 inches over the surface of the ground. Driving through fog can be very dangerous since your visibility decreases when light reflects off the droplets/ crystals.
Lucky for us, the fog lights were invented for this situation. Fog lights on newer cars are located on the bottom of the front bumper. Fog lights operate by lights that are pointed towards the ground they are able to light up the road in front of your car, without the light reflecting back against the droplets/ crystals. Be aware though, fog lights do not reach as far as normal headlights do so, driving cautiously is important.
Did you know fog lights are also supposed to be used when it mist, snows, and blowing sand.
Driving with your fog lights on instead of your headlights will benefit you and others driving near you by increasing the visibility to see the road.
