Texas Classic Car Show - 2008

The 7th Annual Texas Classic Car Show was held on Saturday, September 27, 2008  in Austin at Rudy’s BBQ on 183. Arnold Oil and A-Line Auto Parts have been a part of the show since day one and, if you have never been to this car show, it is nothing but first class. Three guys are responsible for putting the show together: Van Redin, Alan Waters and Bob Vehon. They pour their hearts and souls into the show each year, and ask for nothing. 100% of the proceeds go to The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central Texas.

Thanks to Candice Guenther, Eddie Fluker, and Ed Schneider for being part of the Texas Classic Car Show from the very beginning. Ed brings his race car out each year, Candice brings her personality, and Eddie brings his cooler.  Mike Sorenson and George Riggs always bring the “Plum Crazy” drag boat; as long as it has an engine, people are fascinated.

The weather was great and the turnout for the show was better than expected, even with other big events going on around Austin. We handed out plenty of A-Line Auto Parts bottled water, ice cream, and A-Line tattoos.

The raffle prize winner of the ACDelco cabinets happened to be one of the car show's entrants; Buddy and his wife just moved here from Indiana and heard about the car show. They had entered her pink Plymouth Barracuda in the show but, being new to south Austin, they were looking for a good place to buy auto parts. They now know there’s an A-Line in Buda, where they are excited to start shopping.

Again, thanks to everyone who participated. We helped a great cause and had fun doing it.
